its funny how every bodies speaks upon atticuses love life when its none of there business . people that have no idea what its like to be a single parent or that has never been a child with one parent always have negative commented about how Scout and Jem's would have been if there mother hadn't died or Atticus had remarried.

I think that from my experience of having only a mom it doesn't matter if you only have one parent yeah it might be a little different but if you have a perent that really loves you your not really missing any thing . I don't think they people understand unless they go through it or actually is a single parent. kids will be kids every kid goes through the adventurous stage like jem and scoutt its just a phase because my brother and I was kinda the same way as children as time passed we split apart he went his way i went my way . you have no dont know what influence that their mom would been on scoutt. I'm not going to say losing there mom is not a good thing but if she was still alive jem and scoutt would be different.

the lives of Scout and Jem could have turned out much worst. but instead They have learned how to be more independent over the years, they gained self control through out the story. Atticus has been the structur of the family he has to to stay strong beccause if he falls apart the whole family is going down.
